We start with our 'Walk This Way' in Oak Lawn, and head to 'Rockin' for Ataxia' at TRIO of Palos. This is basically a big party featuring live entertainment, auctions, TV and cash raffles, free pizza appetizers, full menu and cash bar available. Normal admission is $20, but if you show up at Centennial Park in Oak Lawn with your bike around 11:30, and just ride in a procession to TRIO (about 4 miles away) at 12:45, you'll get in for 1/2 price, or $10. It's a nice Saturday afternoon.

Saturday, September 10, 2016 GO TO www.fightataxia.org/Rally.html Ataxia is a neurological disorder on the same vein as Parkinsons and MS, but far rarer and less known. Jonas, a former musician, who DJs some parties at the Tinley Park American Legion, has been dealing with this for over 22 years. As there is no viable treatment, an annual fundraiser is held in Oak Lawn and Palos, which helps to raise some funds for research at U of Chicago. |
